Unbounded:

The Importance of Getting Lost

4 - 7 August 2026

DRAW Studio, Wheelbirks Farm, Stocksfield, NE43 7HY

Artists Jenny Purrett & Frances Arnold are co-leading this Lo-fi experimental printmaking on both huge and tiny scale!

Collaborative working leading to development of independent practice

Our themes: Getting lost and finding ourselves, memory and moment, permanence and impermanence

Come and spend 4 days in the studio, making drawings both individually and collaboratively in response to the experience of being outside at Wheelbirks. Using simple printmaking techniques, we’ll explore new ways of working. The first 2 days will start with tutor-led exercises focused around monoprint and tetrapack intaglio where you will also be encouraged to consider ways to incorporate text into your work.

During the second half of the course, we will support you in the development of your independent practice. On these last 2 days, you will also have the opportunity to have a one-to-one mentoring session with one of your tutors to discuss your experience and ways that you may want to develop your work beyond the Summer School. On the final afternoon we will reflect on all we have done and celebrate the display of work with an informal exhibition for friends and family.

Cost: £350 includes: all materials, 30 minute one-to-one mentoring session, 2 tutors to lead and support during the whole 4-day course
