Original, limited edition abstract geometric screenprint. Hand drawn, and printed by hand at Northern Print in Newcastle, UK.
Sea Mist is a two-layer, three colour screenprint full of textured marks pushing at the edges of an arrangement of squares and triangles, offset to playfully include the paper’s white surface as part of the image.
The turquoise-blues and blue-greys are evocative of the sea frets we have here on the Northumberland coast; the hand-drawn marks full of power and turbulence. Set within a formal arrangement of geometric shapes to balance it’s presence against the vastness conveyed by the voids.
It’s a joy to give value the qualities of the paper as much as the inks; to blur screenprinting with the hand-made mark.
Printed as an edition of 4 on 250g Somerset White with deckle edges. Signed, numbered, titled and dated on the front in pencil.
