GOOD NEWS!

I'm incredibly grateful to have been awarded a DYCP grant from Art Council England and to receive a bursary from November Club’s GROW programme.

DYCP & GROW awards

I’m honoured to receive a DYCP grant, particularly on my first time applying to this competitive fund, and to have the support of November Club’s GROW bursary to complement this learning is invaluable.

Creative Projects

I continue to work as a Creative Producer in the Creative People and Places network, now with Borderlands in South Tees, close to where I grew up in the North York Moors.

Meanwhile, here in Northumberland, I’m working with November Club as a freelance Associate Producer developing new projects with creatives & communities.

Join me in 2024 on this exciting journey!

A New Year Heralds Change

2024 brings significant change in my creative practice as an Artist and Creative Producer, thanks to an Arts Council England Developing Your Creative Practice (DYCP) grant and support from November Club’s GROW bursary.

DYCP enables me to explore contemporary landscapes through collaborative approaches to visual arts practice. Learning from and connecting with inspirational artists, mentors and creative companies.

The GROW bursary complements my DYCP activity with digital training and mentoring to support me to sustain my freelance practice.

It’s an incredible opportunity to synthesise learning from my co-production, artistic & lived experiences to shape a holistic model of practice.

The Inspiration

I've worked as a Producer in co-production and an abstract Artist since 2009. My work has taken me to Norway, Sweden and across the UK, as well as right here with the amazing communities in the North East of England. My practice has encompassed site-specific, socially engaged and studio-based practices. Now feels like the perfect time to shape a new path, shaped by all these rich experiences.

Funding from Creative UK in 2022 to explore connections between landscape printmaking & temporary rural studio hire, and my nearly 10 year journey as a Creative Producer with North East Creative People and Places programmes, have inspired me to take this step.

 DYCP & GROW Activity

DYCP enables me to focus on research & networking in representational landscapes, art licensing & collaborative approaches to visual arts practice through the following activity:

·      learn from artist-led, rural & socially engaged artist educators and companies

·      network with master screenprinter, art licensing agencies, artists & galleries

·      receive mentoring support

·      share learning

GROW complements this activity by enabling me to train with Sunderland University’s Digital Skills programme here in Northumberland and work with a mentor. I’ll be focusing on digital marketing training and mentoring to support me to form a holistic model of practice as a cross-disciplinary freelancer.

Stay in Touch!

I'm so excited to go on a journey of discovery that synthesises all that learning and re-connects my practice with the rural landscapes that have shaped my whole life.
